DAY 1: Sat
Antigua (Fly to Guatemala City)
Afternoon arrivals met at Guatemala City Airport

Accommodation: In Antigua we will stay at a nice boutique hotel right in the middle of town so that you can walk to the plazas, restaurants, bars, and shops with ease.
Notes: Tour begins in the afternoon when we meet you at the Guatemala City Airport. Please do not book flights that arrive in the morning or at night because we will not be able to meet you at the airport, as we will already have moved on to Antigua with the rest of the group.

Antigua

(9am-2pm) Walking tour of Antigua, including museum, convents, churches, plazas

(4:30 pm) Group transport to Earth Lodge (20 mins) for sunset, dinner, and music*

DAY 3: Mon
Antigua to Lake Atitlan

(1:30 pm) Boat to San Marcos (30 min)
(3pm) Group Walk to Cerro Tzankujil Nature Reserve for hiking, swimming, cliff jumping!!

Accommodation: In San Marcos La Laguna we will stay at a nice boutique hotel right on the water so that you can swim, lay out, or explore the village with ease.
Notes: Bring your swimsuit for incredible swimming st the Nature Reserve

Notes: There are some very fun activities to choose from on this morning. They are not included but we can help make recommendations and help you book it.. The walk up to the Mirador (viewpoint) isn’t far but it is steep.
DAY 5: Wed
Lake Atitlan to Chichicastenango

Chicken buses to Chichi in afternoon (2 1/2 hr)
(4pm) Quick tour of Chichi Cemetery

Accommodation: In Chichi we will stay at a beautiful colonial style hotel only a block away from the market and central plazas
Notes: Chicken buses aren’t dangerous but they can possibly get crowded. We will likely have to hop on to a couple on the trip to Chichicastenango (This is why backpacks are better than rolling suitcases!)
DAY 6: Thu
ChiChi Market to Comalapa

Accommodation: Comalapa is not a touristed town and has very limited accommodation options. We will stay at small low end to mid range hotels. We are visiting Comalapa for the philanthropic element of this tour and to get you off of the beaten path. Do you have what it takes? Don’t worry, we’ll have you back in a nice hotel again asap!
Notes: Make sure you have cash for the market in case you want to buy things
DAY 7: Fri
Comalapa & Long Way Home

Accommodation: We’ll be staying at a standard mid range hotel very close to the Guatemala City Airport so we can get everyone to the airport with ease the following day..
Notes: You will have the opportunity to buy art from local artists. If you wish to collect supplies from LWH’s wish list to donate, we will help you do that.
DAY 8: Sat
Fly to Flores

Transport to nearby Airport (based on flight times)

Accommodation: In Flores, we will stay at a very nice boutique hotel right in the middle of the island so that you can walk to the water, restaurants, bars, and shops with ease.
Notes Group dinner will also be an orientation for new arrivals to the group.
DAY 9: Sun
Flores & ARCAS Animal Rescue

Tour of ARCAS, deliver donated supplies, short volunteering (3 hrs)

Free time rest of day (suggest kayaking around Flores)

DAY 10: Mon
Tikal Ruins

Notes: We set out very early in the morning so that you will have the park and the ruins almost to yourself. We will be wrapping up our tour before the hordes of tourists arrive.

Flores to Lanquin

Accommodation: Lanquin is a remote village surrounded by rain forest and is mostly off of the main tourist trail. We will stay at a rustic but comfortable lodge style hotel just outside of the village.
Notes: There is another great cave in Lanquin, near the hotel. It is not included but we can help you arrange a visit.
DAY 12: Wed
Semuc Champey

Accommodation: Lanquin is a remote village surrounded by rain forest and is mostly off of the main tourist trail. We will stay at a rustic but comfortable lodge style hotel just outside of the village.
Notes: Bring your swimsuit! The 4×4 ride is a bumpy adventure so be prepared. The candle lit cave tour is in waist deep water. It is very fun but not for the faint of heart. Let us know if you are not comfortable with going.
DAY 13: Thu
Lanquin to Antigua

Acatenango Volcano

Group campfire dinner with views of Fuego Volcano (lava)*
Accommodation: We will be sleeping in tents at the camp near the top of Volcan Acatenango
Notes: The hike up the volcano to camp is strenuous. Bring good shoes and be ready to get a work out. It will take 5-6 hours, including a lunch/rest break
DAY 15: Sat
Return to Antigua

Notes: There may or may not be time for breakfast before you have to depart for the airport. It depends on the time of your flight. The trip to the Airport will take 1 ½ hrs so try to book a flight home that departs mid-morning at the earliest, if you can
